If approved at the meeting, the Constables will apply to the Royal Court for a remède to raise more than £680,000 for the year to be spent on parochial needs.
The bulk, £421,721, is for the refuse rate to collect household rubbish, while a further £252,100 is needed for running the parish and the office. This includes £70,000 towards the ordinary upkeep of the Parochial Cemeteries.
At the same meeting – at the Vale Douzaine Room on Wednesday 12th March starting at 7.30pm – the Rector and Churchwardens will be seeking a total of £10,830 towards the ordinary and extraordinary upkeep of the church and other expenses.
This amount would have been higher but the management board had more than £23,000 voted for previous work that, for various reasons, has not been progressed.
Details are set out in the official publications below, which appeared in La Gazette Officielle in the Guernsey Press and a link to the underlying accounts is also available at the end of this article.
These set out the full agenda for the meetings, which also include elections for a People's Churchwarden and two ratepayers to serve on the Vale Parish Church Property Management Board.
