In all, 46 letters have had to be issued because of parishioners who haven't paid this year's rates bill or made contact with the office to make arrangements to pay what's outstanding.
A total of £7,794 remains unpaid. The douzaine has an obligation to ensure this money, vital for the administration of the parish, is paid which is why the legal letters are being issued.
Since the last update was released by the office, 14 accounts have been settled and a further seven have agreed to pay by instalment.
The Douzaine office said that pursuing outstanding accounts was always a last resort and urged anyone still in arrears to make contact immediately so alternative arrangements can be made. Delaying can also cost parishioners as outstanding balances are subject to a penalty of £25 and further costs from the court process itself.
