Vale resident deputy David Dorrity has been announced as the special guest for the penultimate Douzaine Surgery of the current pilot scheme, which will be held at the end of the month.

Hosted by new douzenier Martine Ellis, the surgery is available to all Vale residents and is an opportunity to raise specific parish issues as well as question one of their States members.

Deputy Dorrity is an islander with a strong interest in States and social housing and the island's communal support systems and grew up in Guernsey in the '70s, when there was a lot less money around than there is today.

He is a financial services professional and has expressed his support for the GST-plus package, which the States are now being asked to modify and which might generate some questions at the surgery.

Critical
Deputy Dorrity is critical of the delays in advancing housing at Leale's Yard and said when he was campaigning that people repeatedly told him that “the States need to sort Aurigny out!”

His manifesto is available here – https://election2025.gg/candidates/browse/david-dorrity/

This month's surgery starts 10am on Saturday 27 June at the Douzaine Room at Maraitaine Road with the entrance at the side door.

The last surgery of this trial period will be held at the end of July.
