Evening weekday buses may return on Vale routes

Tue 27 Jan 2026

Vale parishioners are being asked to have their say on a number of proposed changes to the island's bus routes, some of which affect the north of the island.

One of the major ones suggested is an extension to the night bus route (see map below), which would take in Oatlands, Rue Sauvage and L'Islet.

If ratified, the improvements would also see the return of the later evening weekday services on the 11 route at 8.30pm and 9pm. That is being made possible, however, by removing the existing S evening routes.

Since Stagecoach took over as Guernsey's bus operator 10 months ago, it is proposing a series of improvements to bus timetables to improve punctuality, reliability and accuracy of the bus timetable.

Based on its experience of operating the service and data it has collected, it says the changes will better serve key locations of community interest, and increase bus usage. It also says no extra cost will be involved.

The full list of changes can be found here and comments are being invited on the amendments. You can provide feedback by emailing [email protected] by Sunday 8th February. Alternatively, you can write to The Senior Passenger Transport Officer, Driver & Vehicle Licensing, Edward T Wheadon House, Le Truchot, St Peter Port, GY1 3WH.

  • There will also be an opportunity to find out more about the changes in person on Wednesday 28th January, 12pm-2pm at the bus terminus shop.
