Out-of-Town help to complete tax returns offered at the Vale Douzaine

Thu 23 May 2024

A special help session to assist older islanders and those with mobility issues to fill in their tax returns is being held at the Vale Douzaine Room next week. Attendance is free and Revenue Service staff will be on hand to advise on a number of issues.

People are asked to go the Harold Collas Room at the Vale Douzaine on Tuesday 28 May from 9am to 4pm, where they will be able to:

  • Get help registering for online filing
  • Collect a paper tax return
  • Get help filling in a paper or online tax return
  • Get help with general tax queries

The drop-in is aimed at assisting anyone who finds it difficult to get to Edward T. Wheadon House to get help with filing their tax return and the Vale Douzaine was chosen specially because it has easy access and parking and those being helped will also be able to sit down while they are served.

It is the first in a series of out-of-town drop-ins with further sessions planned for St Saviour's Community Centre and St Martin's Parish Hall in the coming weeks, and which will be publicised  in due course.

Those who want help with online filing are asked to bring a laptop, tablet or mobile phone with them for the Vale Douzaine event. Access to the Harold Collas Room is through the side entrance to the right of the main doors, which also has ramp access.

Drop-in sessions for customers who would like help with filing their personal tax return online are also being held at Edward T. Wheadon House from 8:45am to 4pm at the customer counter on level 3 on the following dates:

  • 10 June, 8 July, 12 August, 9 September, 7 October, 11 November and 16 December.

More detail details on the drop-in sessions can be found at www.gov.gg/onlinetaxhelp
