The 2026 Service commemorating the Armistice will be held on Sunday 8th November at 10am at the war memorial just off the Bridge and will be conducted by Vale Rector, the Rev. Bev Herve.
A formal invitation has today been extended by the Constables and Douzaine and it is hoped that as many parishioners as possible will attend this annual mark of respect for the dead of both World Wars and, especially, those Vale men commemorated on the parish's memorial itself.
The official notice (below) was posted in La Gazette Officielle by Senior Constable John Niles and William Cohu, the Dean of the Douzaine.
As well as an enduring mark of respect for the fallen, the invitation and the service itself provides an opportunity for parishioners to remember those who have served, as well as letting the men and women of the armed forces serving at the time know that their community supports them.
This year, St Sampson's High are allowing students to do the readings and a saxophone quartet will be playing.
Police will ensure that the road is closed for the duration of this service.
