L'Ancresse Common questions on agenda at Vale Douzaine surgery

Wed 14 Oct 2026

The Vale's next douzaine surgery is to be held on Saturday and residents will also have an opportunity to ask questions about L'Ancresse Common as well as parish matters.

This is because Vale Commons Council president André Quevâtre is also a Vale Douzenier and will be one of the douzeniers at the surgery, which starts at 10am on Saturday 17 October at the Vale Douzaine Room, Maraitaine Road.

Along with other Vale Douzeniers Anne Setters and Julie Creed they will be looking forward to covering parish issues which parishioners bring for discussion. As André is also on the Vale Commons Council, matters relating specifically to the Commons can also be included this month.

He said: "None of us are experts, and we might not be able answer all your questions immediately. We might need to refer back to the monthly Douzaine meeting (or Commons Council meeting) before coming back with a full response.

"The important thing is that we are listening and keen to hear what you have to say. Don't be shy - come and have a chat!"

  • Anyone wanting to attend is asked to use the side entrance where the access ramp is sited as the main doors to the Douzaine Room will remain locked for security purposes.
