Vale gains and loses services as new bus timetable is announced

Wed 02 Sep 2026

A new bus timetable that affects services in the Vale and north of the island comes into effect next week and the operator says it has been shaped by user feedback and is designed to improve the reliability of the island's bus routes while maintaining and enhancing access to key destinations.

The main changes, announced jointly by the States Environment & Infrastructure Committee and operator Stagecoach South West, are as follows:

  • More frequent buses and a new circular route on Routes 51 and 52

  • Enhanced links to the Princess Elizabeth Hospital

  • Improved evening provision by adding later services to main routes

  • A revised night bus network to provide greater coverage across the island on a Friday and Saturday.

  • Additional Sunday services throughout the summer

For the main Route 11 service in the Vale the chief changes when the new timetable comes into effect next Monday are the loss of the early morning 05:30 Monday to Friday journey but the return of the weekday evening bus, which provides a service from Town to the north at:

  • 20:30 Monday to Friday

  • 21:00 Monday to Friday and

  • 20:20 Sunday.

These additional evening journeys have been introduced to replace the withdrawn S evening services and the P2 Parish Link has also been withdrawn due to lack of demand.

Full details of the changes are available in the downloads section below and the schedules will be amended from Monday 7 September, when the new service takes effect. Meanwhile, the new details can be found here
