Deputy Van Katwyk to attend second douzaine surgery

Thu 23 Apr 2026

The second Vale Douzaine surgery is being held on Saturday and parish resident deputy Lee Van Katwyk will be there along with Vale Douzeniers to meet parishioners and listen to the topics they raise.

First Surgery: Deputy Liam McKenna, left, douzenier Ollie Goddard and PC Alex Moore of the Neighbourhood Police Team

All parishioners are invited to attend what is an agenda-free and informal opportunity to discuss local issues and particularly those that affect the Vale.

The first surgery a month ago was a successful start, when scruffy roadside verges, potholes and the island's housing shortage were raised and commented on.

The surgeries, which are being held on a trial basis, are also an opportunity to invite guests to meet parishioners and this month's is Deputy Van Katwyk, who has a keen interest in the parish and who has already said he wants to be a true people's deputy and spend at least half of his time on constituency matters.

His manifesto, which can be found here, raised the need for more housing and expressed his opposition to GST.

  • The surgery is being held at the Vale Douzaine Room and starts at 10am. Please note, access is via the side door on the right of the building, not the main doors.

A further three have been scheduled – 16th May, 27th June and 25th July.
