Vale War Memorial benefits from specialist clean-up

The Vale War Memorial has just received a £12,000 clean-up to remove the build-up of lichen and other growth that has occurred over the years. This was instigated by the Douzaine in consultation with States Heritage Services to ensure the commemorative obelisk was properly and respectfully treated.

Bordeaux swimmers don't have permission to park in road, says Douzaine

Swimmers are being warned that they face fines of up to £65 if they park their cars on the painted "pavement" at Bordeaux while taking a dip. The advice follows police saying that some regular bathers have claimed the douzaine said they could park there.

Please think of others when cutting your hedge

Parishioners have been asked to be good neighbours when cutting hedges and not make too much noise at unreasonable hours if using power tools and mechanical equipment. The request comes from the States Office of Environmental Health and Pollution Regulation following a number of complaints.
