Hunt for 'L'Ancresse Snake' scaled back

A search for a suspected large snake that was seen earlier in the summer at L'Ancresse Common has been scaled back by the Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, which was conducting it.
Volunteers needed for island-wide voting referendum

The Vale parish is looking for volunteers - and for a very special event. They are needed to assist parishioners vote in the forthcoming multi-option referendum on the method of electing People's Deputies to the States of Deliberation.
Fort Le Marchant fly tipping cleared

Some significant amounts of fly tipping [pictured below] near Fort Le Marchant have now been cleared by the Vale Commons Council after it was reported to them and police are investigating the incident.

Sixty parishioners face court for non-payment of rates

Up to 60 Vale parishioners risk being taken to court for failing to pay their rates, the Senior Constable has warned. More than £10,000 is owed by them and the Douzaine will take all legal steps to recover this money, Richard Leale said.
