Vale Senior Constable Richard Leale has reacted to the news that the Co-op believes it is now 'commercial suicide' to go ahead with developing the land it owns at the Bridge.

One of the aims of the parish's new-look website is to build a gallery of images of the parish, showing it at its best. Our gallery section has a number of scenic shots and Douzenier Terry Ashworth has added a beautiful sunrise he captured at Bordeaux.

Improving the safety and appearance of Vale Avenue has got off to a good start with Guernsey Electricity having demolished part of the terrace of homes there that have stood derelict for a number of years.

In case you missed it, the popular kiosk at L’Ancresse East has reopened for the summer, and will be there seven days a week until 30 September – although new tenant Sandy Brassell would like to continue next year depending on what happens to the anti-tank wall project in the meantime, given the strength of opposition to its removal.
