Moving Vale Castle truck 'will cost ratepayers'

Disposing of a truck that appears to have been abandoned at the car park opposite the Vale Castle could leave the Vale Douzaine – and parish ratepayers – facing a bill of around £1,000, Senior Constable Richard Leale has revealed. The cost has been significantly increased because the small lorry has been filled with rubbish.

And following pressure from the Vale Douzaine, president Lindsay de Sausmarez has confirmed that the reappraisal will also look at filling in Longue Hougue Reservoir (pictured below).

Housing in the North: what do you think?

Emergency action to help resolve the island's shortage of affordable housing is concentrated on the North with nearly 700 new builds scheduled for the "corridor" off the Bridge to Route Militaire, if the former Data Park is re-zoned from industrial to housing. The Data Park is currently earmarked as one of Guernsey's four key industrial zones and classed as "strategically important".
