A special booklet produced by the Vale in memory of those commemorated on the parish war memorial has been featured by the Guernsey Press.

Doubts have been expressed by the Vale Douzaine that island-wide elections can be made to work unless electronic voting is introduced at the same time.

The Vale Parish Remembrance Service commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armistice will be held at 10.00am on Sunday 11 November at the war memorial. Anyone attending will then be invited back to the Douzaine room for tea or coffee and biscuits and invited to view a special exhibition consisting of details of all those names that appear on the memorial from the 1914 to 1918 conflict.

A proposal to develop what was described as an architectural salvage yard in an narrow northern lane has been rejected by planners following objections lodged by the Vale Douzaine and others.
