Members of the Vale Douzaine have been invited to a special tour of the parish church to see first hand the work that is required this year to keep the ancient monument – which was dedicated in 1117 – in tip-top condition.

Police are investigating vandalism that occurred on parish land and involved significant damage to a tree planted in memory of former States member Dave Jones, who was a staunch supporter of the Vale.

The Vale is responding positively to a call by the States to put the focus on this year's Liberation Day celebrations on the parishes, the Vale Douzaine has confirmed.

Rousse Pier, which was badly damaged by storms in November, is to be repaired over the next spring tides, the States has confirmed. The assurance came after the Vale Constables raised concerns, highlighted by users and the moorings committee.

Vale Constable Richard Leale is to contact States Agriculture, Countryside and Land Management Services (ACLMS) over the deteriorating condition of Rousse Pier to try to establish a timetable of repairs for the facility.

An election is to be held later this month for a member of La Mare de Carteret Primary Parochial School Committee and nominations for the single seat available are now being invited.

The new owner of the site providing the Vale Parish allotments has announced that she has a number of plots – including some under cover – available for new tenants in 2022 and is inviting people to contact her for more information and to arrange a visit to the site.

A solution to the rapidly-worsening erosion at the coast path bordering La Fontenelle Bay near Beaucette is to be explored by the Environment and Infrastructure Committee. President Deputy Lindsay de Sausmarez gave the assurance after she saw first-hand the problem first flagged up by the parish authorities.

Vale parishioners are being invited to comment on proposals that could see the Mallard Cinema Complex area developed for an unknown number of extra-care accommodation, nursing and residential homes.
