A meeting has been called later this month for all those who hold boat moorings in the Vale areas of Bordeaux, Chouet, Rousse and Les Amarreurs to elect new management committees for the next three years.

Vale-based community radio station GNet will be interviewing States member Mark Helyar tomorrow and is inviting questions from parishioners on topical issues for the Policy and Resources member to answer.

The Guernsey Housing Association has been congratulated by the Vale Senior Constable on its plans to build up to 300 social needs and affordable new homes at the States-owned former Belgrave Vinery site. But he is also worried how that might affect regenerating the Bridge and utilising Leale's Yard.

Equipment at the well-used play area at Les Amarreurs is being extended and improved by the Vale Douzaine as part of its parish improvements programme. The oldest and one of the most popular pieces, the monkey bars climbing frame, has been refurbished and extended while work has started on a new attraction.

A new junior library has opened at Vale Primary School and some of its content has been provided through donations approved by the Vale Douzaine.

Support for regenerating the Bridge has come from the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce, which said after being approached by the Vale Douzaine that it will be arranging meetings with Policy and Resources and Economic Development to pursue the development.
