Yesterday's great Jubilee Jamboree held at L'Islet Common jointly by the Vale and St Sampson's Douzaines was hailed a great success by the hundreds and hundreds of islanders who turned up to take the opportunity to celebrate the Queen's 70-year reign.

A special invitation is being extended to the whole island by the Douzaines of the Vale and St Sampson's to attend a Jubilee Jamboree at L'Islet Common to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Friday 3rd June. A full day's fun is promised with live music from local bands, food and drink stalls, children's entertainment, vehicle displays, and Guernsey’s longest street party with seating down La Route De L’Islet.

Guernsey’s douits, streams, reservoirs and groundwater are at risk of pollution by small residues of pesticides some of which are not easily removed by water treatment processes, Guernsey Water is advising parishioners. Safe drinking water limits are set extremely low at 100 nanograms per litre, (0.1 parts per billion).
